diskursHELLO Feel free to look around, but don't wonder... Passive Breathing Here you find illustrations to the "water bomb model" of breathing (Click for HiRes-Version)
Sound examples All sound samples were recorded with a speech microphone placed 3 cm from the right nostril. The didgeridoo was additionally shielded out and hence sounds correspondingly dull. All patterns have been recorded in one track without any didgital effects and have only been cut after recording to achieve the same conditions for each sample. Thus, the active breathing can be heard very loud. With the passive breathing you can only hear the low sound of the soft palate releasing to let air pass while inhaling. It might sound a bit sick at first but remember that this sound appears unnaturally loud depending on the recording technique. A) The following samples are excercises for passive Breathing.
B) the following samples illustrate different volumes of breathing between active and passive breathing, each with a long phrase and a quick rhythm.
C) This sample demonstrates the snoring sound that can be heard from some players.
